Rib Crib Raises $40,000 for American Cancer Society!
June 29, 2009, Tulsa, OK – Foursomes spent Monday, June 1, 2009, swinging for low scores and charity at the 7th Annual Rib Crib Golf Invitational, benefiting the American Cancer Society. The four-man scramble was held at The Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow.
132 golfers participated in this event which raised over $40,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
“The American Cancer Society is proud to partner with Rib Crib in the fight against cancer. Because of the continued efforts of the Rib Crib staff and supporters, who plan and attend the annual golf tournament, the American Cancer Society is helping people Stay Well, Get Well, Find Cures and Fight Back. Together, we are making a difference,” stated Lesa Foster, Regional Vice President, American Cancer Society.
"In tough economic times, the community relies on the services of the American Cancer Society more than ever," commented President and CEO of Rib Crib Corporation, Bret Chandler. “We have many employees and vendors that have been personally affected by cancer, including myself. It is a very important cause for our entire team.”
Rib Crib gathered more than 25 sponsors including The F&M Bank & Trust Co., Auto-Chlor, The Holmes Organisation, Dr. Pepper, Farmer Brothers Coffee, Smalley Equipment, ORR Insurance, Tyson Foods, Cox Business Services, JBS Swift & Co., Ventura Foods
Ben E. Keith, SMH Capital, Lamb Wesson and Flexjet.
Over 30 volunteers, mostly Rib Crib employees, helped with the charity event.
The golfers kicked off the day with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start, followed by two all-you-can-eat barbecue lunches on the course donated by Rib Crib BBQ & Grill. Beverages were donated by Anheuser Busch, Coors Light & Coca Cola.
Golfers competed for a hole-in-one prize, a 2009 Cadillac CTS, provided by Don Thornton Cadillac.
The Silent Auction included items donated by Stan Johnson Co., The Polo Grill, Jack Arnold, Bruce Weber, University of Oklahoma, Fleming’s Steakhouse, BOK Center, Oaks Country Club, The Ambassador Hotel and Marshall Brewery,
The Car Trends Raffle had many incredible prizes including a grill donated by Hasty-Bake.
The winning team was Ram Energy (Brandon Lee, Forrest Fischer, Larry Rampey, Drake Smiley), second was Flexjet (Greg Cummings, Bob Knebel, Dylan Haynie, Dennis Burbank), third place was ORR Insurance (John Vance, Craig Oden, Calvin Worth, Joe Majma) and fourth was Rib Crib (Jim Barnett, Brandon Manly, David Steele and Brad Dentis).
To date, the tournament has raised over $150,000 for the American Cancer Society.
